This past Sunday we took a day trip to Brighton, a lovely little beach town on the south coast of England. Thank goodness I brought my sunglasses, as the weather was perfect. It also felt good to be on the water and see the waves crashing against the pier. It reminded me a little of home. After a quick tour of the city and of the Royal Pavilion, a former royal palace, we ventured off on our own through the twisted alleyways known as the Lanes. There was also some sort of street fair going on, with a band performing on stage and the cutest little kids painting cardboard houses. After indulging in a fantastic red velvet cupcake we made our way back to the pier, jumped on the coach, and headed back to London. The city was charming, although I'm sure there is much I didn't get a chance to see.
Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Tropic Thunder at the very adorable Electric Cinema in Notting Hill. While the film itself was questionable, the experience was more than pleasant. Also, today I took my first London Yoga class, finally. I'm feeling very cleansed and looking forward to making it a daily occurrence.
Oh, and Amanda is here! So excited!
